Welcome!

Our logo is taken from a fabulous painting “La Celestina” or “The Matchmaker” by the established British artist Chris Gollon who, as we always say,  is renowned for painting life into everything and bringing everything to life.

Just 30 minutes away from Girona airport by road, our apartment is a mere 10 minute walk from the beach, the Marina, all sorts of sports and the shops and restaurants. But… it is in a residential block of two apartments and so is perhaps a little more civilised than a holiday block.

Marblava is on the first floor of this mini-block amongst other apartments owned mostly by locals. Because it is in a locality, there are shops, bars and restaurants on its very doorstep, but the sea and the fun are minutes away – about 15 on foot and five by local bus.

This is not a flat in a holiday block, so don’t come here expecting to party too loudly. But if you want relatively quiet comfort after a day of snorkelling, diving, kayaking, sailing, cycling and any number of other outdoor activities available nearby, or if you are a family who want to spend most days on the beach but have somewhere comfy to come home to, you should seriously consider Marblava.

If you are into sports, the large garage is ideal for you. On the ground floor (of course) with lots of space for keeping bikes and other kit.

It is a short drive from Girona, that magnificent cathedral town which is the capital of our Province. And as well as that, we are within striking distance of many fascinating locations, from the houses and museums of Salvador and Gala Dali, through ancient villages and Roman ruins, to the great metropolis of Barcelona.

It is perfect for a slightly less frantic family holiday in the summer season (July/August). The sandy beach and rocky coves are a short walk away and there is also a tourist train (on wheels!)  which runs along the coast road allowing you to hop on and off if you want to visit the second gorgeous beach in Sant Pol or the beautiful Ermita at Sant Elm (with its stunning views up and down the coast).

It is not far from Platja d’Aro which has all of the swimming chutes (with a free coach to and from it in summer), noisy beaches, tourist shops and nightclubs, but it is far enough away that you can take it or leave it as you wish…

June is ideal for adults wanting a laid back holiday as this is generally outside the school holiday season and the weather is usually absolutely stunning. In May and September it is usually still swimmable for adults and much, much quieter (although it is not ever that noisy).

Having said this, there is plenty to do and see all year round – so do have a look…

We have finished Marblava to a good standard of comfort – making it the sort of place we would stay in ourselves. It gives you an ideal base from which to explore the Costa Brava and indeed the whole of Catalunya. Sant Feliu de Guixols is a wealthy town with the strapline “open all year”, so the cafes and restaurants are always open and there is always something going on.

Enjoy a  comfortable experience, using our knowledge of Catalunya and the Costa Brava, to turn your trip into an unforgettable, magical insight into this special part of the world.

Clients who book Marblava have access to some inside information held within our guest-only pages, which will help you make the most of your holiday and also perhaps give you the opportunity to try new things.

Use the menu above to come and see…

If you are looking for something a little more luxurious (air conditioning, community pool etc), visit our luxury holiday rental apartment a few minutes’ stroll from the beach at Sant Feliu de Guixols, Marona…
